The Swans have arrived in South County. Finishing up (?) the last painting of the Fall “Perch.” Perch refers to the songbirds and foragers among the fallen leaves at our feeders.
Smaller in scale than recent work. On canvas from Heidi.
November 8, 40 X 30″ Acrylic and spray enamel paint, Paper on canvas. Midterms and H’s Birthday.
Most of the foliage here peaked before Halloween. Exception here is the crepe myrtle, in glory for the first time in six years. The blue of the chair made it into the collage/painting.
I’ve been using forms here inspired by the negative spaces formed between oak leaves. Like this . . .
Have not had the opportunity to work on art lately. This week end I was able to get outside and paint/collage. Work in progress. Last image close to done?
Underpainting – traced shadows and acrylic paint infill.

Still Life/Bodega. 40 X 30″ acrylic on canvas. I “finished” this last August ’21. It looked like this:
I don’t know if it is “better” or not, but couldn’t leave it alone. Easel painting with standard brushes. Not sure if it will go anywhere else. I have enjoyed working on it in any case. Has the look of 1937 – 1947 to me. Now, back to something more H2O?
Here is work on display at Tish Gallery in Chestertown, Maryland, “Red, Tish, and Blue” July show: Green-Eyed Cat, She Like Salmon in Her Bowl, Sea Glass Blues, Radience, and Dropping Acorns. Hope that this is the first of many shows with Tish Fine Art Plus in charming Chestertown.
The show opens on June 30th and closes on July 24th, 2022.
