I don’t know when I started this canvas, perhaps in Ramseur, NC over a decade ago? It was all blacks and reds with muted warm colors. Recently, I quickly over-painted it with fluid high-key colors in gestural brush strokes and didn’t worry it.
Walter, Amy, Heather and I explored the beautiful Las Conchas Trail mid-February. In late June a wildfire began near the trailhead. By the first of July the Las Conchas Fire became the largest fire in New Mexico history. Here’s to the re-emergence of that amazing part of New Mexico.
