Electric Piñata found its genesis in a charcoal rubbing of an El Paso Electric manhole cover on Hess Terrace. I had in mind Monet’s build up of thick, short strokes made with small, flat brushes – not my usual mode of application. Complimentary colors and analogous harmonies side by side. I wanted this one to roil.
